Increase Productivity: Make More Money With No More Time - Self Help - Time Management

Workforces, businesses and companies across the globe invest millions of dollars into increasing workplace productivity. The more productive a workplace, the more profitable. In online marketing this is even more true. While in a job, outside of commissions and/or bonuses, you are going to get paid the same no matter if your productivity varies a bit. When working from home you can not afford a dip in productivity, because there is no salary. Your revenues will dip right along with it.

If you want to increase your profits then boost your productivity. If you can accomplish more work in the same amount of time then you will make more money. It makes sense to be as productive as possible, because that will ensure you make the most out of your time.

When you are online marketing there are a couple tips to keep in mind that will help:

1. Treat Online Marketing like Work

You need to treat working online like a real job. You want to set hours to work and meet them. You dont sit down thinking of getting up in 5 minutes. You should show up ready to go each morning at whatever time you have decided. You have to put in hours as well if you worked 40 hours at your job, and are now full time online you have to work at LEAST that much. You dont have to make it a rigid schedule or routine that you will hate but you need to commit some time and direct your full energy like you would at any job.

2. Turn Off Distractions

Get rid of distractions. Dont open up your instant messenger, turn off your cell phone and even *gasp* close your email. There are soooo many distractions available online that you need to avoid them. A couple key distractions can really ruin someones work flow.

You also want to avoid that urge to visit espn.com, Facebook or your other online haunts. If you absolutely cant avoid visiting these sites, use them as rewards. Once you finish a task, you can then check out Facebook for example.

3. No Multi-tasking

Multi tasking is doing more than one task at once sounds great right? What could help productivity more than accomplishing multiple tasks at once? Well not sooooo fast. Multi-Tasking can actually lead to more time wasted, because it doesnt allow you to focus and finish tasks quickly.

I believe Tim Ferris mentioned this on a Facebook update, but there is a study that shows multi-tasking is worse for productivity than smoking a joint.

Focus is important it allows you to direct all of your energy towards one task and this is an efficient way of working. Look at a magnifying glass and the sun. The suns rays need the focus of the magnifying glass to burn.

When you are online marketing it is going to come down to how much you work, and how much you accomplish in that time. Sitting down to work is fine, but making the most of your time doing it is what really counts. Take heed of the above tips and you will increase your own productivity which in turn means more money, money, money.
